THE CLASSIC - 18" Home Fondue Fountain

The chocolate didn't flow. We melted it before hand and added a lot of oil. I'm not giving up on it just yet.

Was using outside and it was a little windy, and the chocolate started getting hard. I would think it would be best used for indoors.

I purchased this product on at the beginning of August, 2012, for my sister's wedding reception. In reading the reviews I also went to Chocoloey to purchase the "special" fodue chocolate. I got both milk and white for variety. The fountain was quick and easy to put together. I wasn't that impressed with the final effect. The chocolate (2.5 pounds-worth) was melted before it was placed in the fountain, it got pretty thick and only flowed nicely for a few minutes. Perhaps I needed more chocolate. I should mention that I did have to add oil to get it to flow at all and I had to stop and restart the machine to get it flowing also. The guests didn't seem to mind at all, it turned out to be a big hit. I'll try again with a different type of chocolate and see what happens.

Bought this for my daughter's 10th birthday party. It was easy to set up and the evening probably would have gone off without a hitch if I had used the viscosity funnel. My first attempt at a chocolate (was trying to make my own chocolate "sauce" without oil) ended with a much too thick mixture. I kept adding evaporated milk to it and whisking it in and voila! it worked!!! The girls stood around me in awe of it as each small batch of "sauce" I added (being runnier and runnier) finally incorporated and made it flow beautifully! It's not the easiest thing to clean (the plastic parts clean up well in hot, soapy water) as the chocolate "bowl" at the bottom is bolted down. I just wiped it clean with warm soapy cloths and a final paper towel to dry it. If you read the instructions and use the right consistency liquid, you should have no problems. As with all "plug-in" appliances, they can't be submerged and therefore, are not the easiest to clean. Totally worth the money, time & effort :)

I bought it to use at my wedding reception and tested it out to make sure everything worked. The set up was easy and so was taking it apart. My fiancé and I used just four pounds of chocolate for a get together and started it about 5:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. and we still ended up with quite a bit chocolate left over. The clean up was easy too. I just used hot, soapy water to wash it and the chocolate came right off (cleaned right after use).

The chocolate flow is very smooth and even, and it does not get any gaps in the flow on any side. Something I find helpful and appealing about this fountain is that the motor does not make any noise. When you’re using the chocolate fountain, and it is on during the event or occasion people do not want to hear that loud motor noise. Overall, I think it is worth paying for you if you plan on reusing it. The material is great, so it does not break easily and when I ordered it, I had no problem with packaging either. I found it to be the easiest from the ones I have seen and tried personally. I never had a problem or technical difficulty with this product so far. I have already used it several times and it has worked fantastically. Unlike other fountains you can also use cheese instead of chocolate if someone wants to use cheese instead of chocolate. It just works amazing, and it has so many benefits that others do not offer, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a fountain.

I purchased this for a high school graduation party after all the rentable ones were not available. It was a huge hit at the party! For dipping we provided cubed pound cake, strawberries and cut bananas, thick pretzel sticks, marshmallows and cookies. I would definitely recommend using 4 bags of the Sephra dark chocolate (which was very tasty) in order for the fountain to flow copiously. We used 3 and it wasn't enough. The reason for the 4-star is because cleaning this thing is messy and time-consuming. The unit is solid and totally quiet. We can't wait to use it again!

I purchased this fountain to use at my daughter's baby shower and I have to say I was very impressed with the ease of use. I thought I was going to have to really mess with it to get it all working properly. However, the fountain works just as stated in the description. Very easy and simple. It's very quiet and works the first time. You may have to turn it on and off once or twice to purge the air out and get the cascading flow of the chocolate. You just heat up the fountain for about 5 minutes, melt the chocolate in the bin it comes in and pour it into the fountain, turn it on and it just works! I would recommend spending the few extra dollars it costs for this fountain, it's money well spent.

The fountain is easy to assemble, is quiet and just the right size, however I have not yet been able to get the perfect flow. The Sephra chocolate is difficult to purchase in Canada for a reasonable price. There is also some waste when cleaning.
