Are you out of fresh, fun party ideas for the holiday season? Got a chocolate fountain? Then how about cheese fondue?
A cheese fondue fountain will not only create a stunning table centerpiece for your party, great for any occassion, catering to those with more of a savoury than a sweet tooth.
Let’s face it, a cheese and cracker combination is one of the most popular (and tasty) appetizers of all time. But cheese fondue takes this classic party staple up a notch!
Which chocolate fountains work well with cheese fondue?
The answer is simple. It’s got to be Sephra! We would say that, of course, but with very good reason.
Sephra really does put the ‘fun’ in fondue because our home and commercial chocolate fountains can also flow delicious, melted cheese and queso.
Sephra’s Classic Home Chocolate Fountain
Sephra offers the ONLY chocolate fountain on the market which successfully flows cheese fondue.
Other – lesser quality – fountains can’t keep up with the heat demands required of melted cheese and, soon, you need a knife to spread your fondue.
With Sephra home and commercial chocolate fountains, your cheese fondue flows warm and cheesy to the last dip!
As the holiday season approaches, there’s lots to do. Home made fare is top of the menu but wouldn’t we all love to serve up a dish that doesn’t take three days to prepare?
Here at Sephra, we don’t like to be stuck in the kitchen any more than you do, so all our cheese fondue suggestions are super easy.
Our party food hacks are also guaranteed to give you lots of bang for your buck!
Check out some of our favorites below.
Nacho Cheese Fountain
Don’t save this dish just for Cinco de Mayo. Serve it up for family, friends, co-workers and other guests whenever you fancy!
To make the easiest ever cheese fondue, just buy a big can of Queso Nacho Cheese from the likes of Costco or Amazon and add stock or chicken broth till it reaches your desired consistency.
Add it to your fountain and grab a bag of tortilla chips!
To turn your Nacho Cheese Fountain into a main dish – and your Christmas party food centerpiece – by surrounding it with taco meat, chopped tomatoes, sour cream, chopped olives, refried beans, chopped green onions, salsa and, of course, lots of chips!
This is a great self-serve main dish or for MAJOR nachos or Christmas party appetizers. It all depends on what you serve to go with your cheese fondue.
Melt all the ingredients to a smooth consistency and use your viscosity cup to determine whether the mixture is ready to put in the fountain.
If the dressing runs through the cup in 8-10 seconds, it’s good to go. If it’s too thick, add chicken broth till you get the perfect flowing consistency.
Now, grab those wings and some celery sticks and you’ll swear you’re in Buffalo where this whole thing is supposed to have started!
Just don’t turn the heat switch on the fountain, as you’ll want to serve this dressing at room temperature.
Velveeta Cheese Fondue
You will need 2lb (32 oz) Velveeta cheese; 8oz cream cheese, and 10.5oz chopped tomatoes with green chillies.
For best results, run the tomatoes through your blender to form a smooth texture so the little chunks don’t “break” the cheese fountain curtain.
Melt all ingredients in a saucepan over a very low heat until melted, using chicken broth, water or milk to thin the mixture to the proper consistency.
Then add to your preheated fountain, turn on the heat and go!
Swiss & Cheddar Cheese Fondue
For this cheese fondue recipe, you will need 3tbsp butter; 2tbsp corn starch; 2 cups milk; 2 cups finely shredded mild Cheddar cheese; 2 cups finely shredded Swiss cheese, and 1 tsp salt.
Melt the butter over a low heat then add the corn starch and stir till combined. Mix in the salt and slowly add the milk.
Stir continually until the roux is boiling. Boil for one minute while continuing to stir.
Turn the heat down and add the cheese. Mix just until the cheese is melted and transfer to your fountain. If you have extra, just add it when your basin starts getting low.
Again, add extra milk to reach the desired flowing consistency.
What’s not to love?
People just love a fondue and, by switching things up with cheese, you have another reason to use your beloved fountain!
Sweet or savory, your Sephra Chocolate Fountain will serve you well as we embark on a new Winter season and soon, a new year.
These recipes are super easy and look so elegant when flowing over the fountain tiers.
They will make you look like the perfect host and as if you’ve slaved away in the kitchen for hours. Yet it’s just a case of combining a few ingredients and assembling your dipping items.
Throw in some drinks and a buffet of cookies or sweets and you’re done!
