Waffles don't always need to be sweet, they can be savory too! And we're fully embracing the yummy, new pizza waffles trend here at Sephra!

Want to make some seriously heavenly pizza waffles your clients and family will love? Here's how! They're incredibly easy to prepare.

For the base, start with a traditional Belgian waffle – which you can whip up easily using our just-add-water Belgian Waffle Batter Mix.

Cook as you normally would in your Belgian Waffle Baker for a tasty and versatile pizza waffles crust.

To make your pizza waffles savory (and more like pizza), simply change up the toppings to replicate popular pizza toppings. You might like a traditional Italian Margherita or pepperoni feast, for example, or a Chicken Alfredo or Hawaiian-style.

Add fruit, vegetables, fresh herbs, anchovies, or whatever you fancy. You can get as creative as you like!

Make your pizza waffles full size or go for mini waffles, which are both super easy and fun to eat.

The beauty of Sephra's Waffle Bakers is that they have interchangeable plates so you can switch between full size and mini waffles whenever you like.

Meat Feast Pizza Waffles

Pepperoni, slices of garlic sausage, ham and minced beef at the ready for these mouth-watering pizza waffles!

If you like it spicy, you could add a few jalapenos or chopped red chilli.

Don't forget to smear your tomato paste and herb base on first and then, once you've added enough protein, cover the whole thing in melty mozzarella.

You could also use shop-bought pizza sauce, which is a great time-saver.

Bake in your Waffle Baker and, in just two minutes, you'll have a meat feast masterpiece.

Chicken Alfredo Pizza Waffles

If you’re not a fan of pizza with a tomato base, buy a jar of Alfredo Pasta Sauce, add chopped chicken and heat thoroughly. This is also a great way to use up leftover chicken from last night's dinner!

Quickly sauté some fresh mushrooms with finely minced garlic in some olive oil.

At the last minute, throw in 5-6 big handfuls of fresh spinach leaves and stir to just wilt the spinach. Don’t worry, the spinach will cook down, but you don’t want to overcook it.

Again, the cheese is the magic topping for oozy, stringy, tasty pizza waffles. Generously scatter mounds of shredded mozzarella over the top and sprinkle with grated Parmesan to finish off.

Pop your pizza waffles one at a time into the Waffle Baker until they're bubbly and slightly browned. Delicious!

Kalamata Olives add an interesting texture to savory waffles [/caption]

Other great pizza waffle toppings are chopped Kalamata olives (which, named after the city of Kalamata in Greece, have a great meaty texture), minced green peppers and thinly sliced red onion.

You could also sprinkle with generous sprinklings of fresh, minced garlic, torn basil leaves, and dried oregano.

Pizza waffles are deliciously different and only take 5-10 minutes to heat through in the Waffle Baker.

Why not throw one together tonight and put a big smile on your family's face? They will love the melting middle and crispy pizza waffle crust!

How to make Dessert Pizza Waffles

Add cocoa powder to your Belgian Waffle Batter Mix for tasty Dessert Pizza Waffles [/caption] If you're a stickler for sweet waffles, you can still make pizza waffles... Dessert Pizza Waffles!

Try our take on a delicious, chocolatey dessert pizza. Just whip up a batch of regular Belgian Waffle Batter Mix (all you need to do is add water) as a starting point.

Then, for every 2 cups of prepared batter, add 2 tablespoons of sifted cocoa powder and 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar. Then bake as required.

Now you're ready to get creative with the toppings. You're an artist and the waffle is your canvas!

If you love hazelnut, you could slather Nutella into each warm nook and cranny of the chocolate waffle then, using Sephra's Chocolate Melts, pipe circles of Dark, Milk and White Chocolate.

Top your waffles with delicious Nutella [/caption] With a thin-bladed knife, start in the middle of the dessert pizza waffle and drag the knife through the chocolate to the edge.

Go around the entire dessert pizza waffle as if you are cutting a pie. It’ll look awesome!

Top with sprinkles and teeny marshmallows, or fresh strawberries and blueberries and, as you serve each expectant guest, heap high with a big scoop of ice cream.

Finish your artwork with a wild flourish of whipped cream and you’ve served one of the best desserts around, with the least effort and expense.
