How to host the perfect kids’ Halloween chocolate fountain party

Chocolate Fountain

An orange-colored home chocolate fountain will wow your guests, young and old

The key to a spooky home chocolate fountain is the color!

Since Halloween is associated with orange and black, you could use white chocolate in your fountain and dye it orange.

Or you can simply use milk or dark chocolate in your fountain and offer an choice of dipping treats that match the spooky theme.

Sephra’s home chocolate fountains and couverture chocolate are easy to color.  And you might want to go a step further by decorating the top and base.

How about orange twinkly lights around the bottom of the fountain and a big black spider as the topper?

Adding color couldn’t be easier, but we hope this YouTube video helps.

Orange food coloring

To dye the chocolate, you will need to use oil-based food coloring.

Water-based coloring would spoil the chocolate.

It’s always worth remembering that water and chocolate don’t mix!

Sephra supplies a whole host of oil-based colors, including Halloween favorites orange, black, green and purple.

Halloween dipping fun

Halloween cookies

Halloween is a great excuse to get creative in the kitchen!

For kid-friendly dipping treats, you could make (or buy) orange and black sugar cookies in various Halloween-inspired shapes, such as bats, spiders and skulls.

Mini cupcakes made with vanilla batter, orange icing with a smattering of black sprinkles are also delicious dipped in chocolate.

And a tray stacked with fluffy marshmallows is always a hit, especially if the kids have to reach through a spider web to get one!

Don’t forget the black tablecloth and various spooky props to scatter around the food trays. And fancy dress is a must!

The spookier the better!

Of course, there’s no reason why you can’t throw a Halloween party for the adults too!

Adult only ideas

Halloween party

Trick or treat!

For an adult party, you might choose a scarier theme.

Think creepy haunted house, skeletons and zombies, or sinister clowns and a fun fair, or even an asylum with evil nurses and lots of blood!

You could set your home chocolate fountain in a graveyard by using a black tablecloth and propping up headstones around the table.

A life-size skeleton, perhaps sporting a black coat, could guard the chocolate fountain, or you might use a skull as the chocolate fountain topper.

Drape cobwebs around the headstones and maybe litter a few bones around the table.

Liquid smoke can create a ghostly atmosphere around the table, and the haunted illusion will be complete!
